It is a method to verify the integrity of drilled shafts and other concrete piles. This method is considered to be more accurate than sonic echo testing in the determination of soundness of concrete within the drilled shaft inside of the rebar cage.
In order to perform the CSL test, accesstubes must be pre-installed prior to theplacement of concrete. The access tubes arenormally PVC pipes attached to the rebar cage extending to the full depth of the drilled shaftand.
